Ball valves are durable, easy to operate, maintenance free and will provide reliable shut off even after years of non-operation. Ball valves do not offer the precise control that might be necessary in throttling applications. For such applications we would recommend globe valves with regulating disc, needle valves or diaphragm valves.
Ball valves are used extensively in the marine industry because of their versatility. Our range includes ball valves with numerous options, dimensions and materials and they are available with flanged or threaded ends. For example we offer bodies in bronze for sea water applications in demanding conditions. In our standard range you find ball valves for pressures up to 63 bars and temperatures up to 180°C. Some of our ball valves can be supplied with fire safe (API 607) design. Valves suitable for higher pressure ratings and temperatures are available on request.

When the ball valve is operated it is possible to cause a build-up of static electricity, caused by the friction of the seat material and the metal ball. If not grounded the static charge could discharge and create a spark. To prevent this some ball valves have an anti-static device in the interface between the ball and stem, and between the stem and body respectively.
Our ball valves are supplied with a lever in material suitable for marine environments. In most cases the valves also have top flanges according to ISO 5211 for installation of actuators for remote operation.
